This double-action & shot pistol is 9 mm Short (.380 ACP) caliber was introduced at the American Shot Show in 1995. I the United States it was sold until recently as model Series 95. The weapon has a rear sight that is adjustable on the side. In addition, it has a safety catch on the left of the slide, which de-cocks the hammer and blocks the firing pin. The magazine catch is in the usual place for a Bersa: on the left of the frame just below the slide catch. The pistol has a total length of 168 mm (6 ½ in) which a height of 120 mm (4 3/4in), a width of 33 mm (1 ¼ in) and a barrel oh 90 mm (3 ½ in). It weights 560 h (19 ¾ oz) . The Thunder 380 has a recoil locking system and is available in a blued finish, a mat-nickel or a combination finish with a blued frame and a polished slide. The grips are made of black synthetic material. This handgun is an evolution of the Model 90, the first full size 9mm Luger pistol made by the Argentine company and introduced in 1989. In 1994, when the entire Bersa pistol production line was renamed "Thunder", the Model 90 was modified with better functionalities and placement of the fire control group, match barrel, improved sights, better ergonomics, lighter weight and increased magazine capacity.
